  • The Danish Fishermen’s Occupational Health Service is the general office for the Port Safety Committees
  • Inform about new legislation
  • General information on occupational health
  • Manage and co-ordinate safety work
  • Register the occupational health problems experienced by the fishermen

The purpose of the Danish Fishermen’s Occupational Health Service in relation to shipowners and crewmembers:

  • Identify and assess occupational health problems and assist shipowners, crewmembers and the safety organisations of the fishery in solving them
  • Consulting at execution and assessment of industrial safety and hygiene measurements
  • Advise about personal protective equipment
  • Conduct systematic health examinations of particularly exposed groups and persons
  • Teach and advise within safety, health and hygiene

The purpose of the Danish Fishermen’s Occupational Health Service in relation to the Danish Maritime Authorities:

  • Discus and provide solutions to the shipowners on how to meet the requirements set by the Danish Maritime Authorities

The purpose of the Danish Fishermen’s Occupational Health Service in relation to shipowners and other service businesses:

  • Consulting body at conversions and new buildings when requested by the ship owners
